What you need:

1. A glass container (small mason jar, glass votive, etc)
2. ½ pound of soy wax (preferably soy wax flakes and not the block kind)
3. ½ ounce scented oil (lilac, rose, lily etc)
4. A candle wick
5. Scissors and fast sticking glue
6. Wax dyes (colors)

Method:

1. Put the wax flakes in a thick bottomed pan and melt over slow heat till the wax has melted completely. Make sure to stir occasionally. Alternatively, you could also put the soy wax flakes in a glass dish and microwave till melted (should be done in under 5 minutes).

2. Once the wax has completely melted, remove from heat and pour in the scented oil. Mix thoroughly till the oil becomes one with the wax. The resulting solution should be a clear liquid.

3. Your soy wax solution is now ready. Affix the metal end of the candle wick to the bottom of the glass container with the fast sticking glue. Pour the prepared wax mixture into the container. If the wick has moved from the center, reposition it in the center of the container. Cut the wick so that only ½ inch remains from the top of the wax.

4. Wait for the wax to cool. On cooling it will harden and your soy candle is ready!
